Proudly serving our community
 for over 50 Years

Yes, we have a new look!  Our new logo aptly reflects our 50 year mission.  It depicts an individual using each resource that Mesquite Social Services provides to give hope and empowerment for a better tomorrow.

Over its many years of history, MSS has evolved to meet the needs of those who depend upon us as a valuable resource during times of crisis.  Our full-choice pantry gives our families nutritional food choices on a daily basis.  Our financial assistance keeps families in their homes by assisting with rent/mortgage and utilities.

2013 proved to be the most challenging year in the history of Mesquite Social Services. We provided services to over 19,000 individuals. We distributed over 475,000 pounds of food from our full-client choice food pantry. We kept over 450 families in their homes through rent/mortgage and utilities. It is through the continued support of our partners consisting of the employees of the City of Mesquite, individual donors, church families, businesses, clubs and organizations and grants that provides the much-needed resources to meet our clients needs.  This year MSS will reach out into our communities renewing old friendships and creating new partners for the years ahead.

Our basic adult educational program which provides FREE GED prep classes.  In 2013 we had six graduating classes.  Individuals receive classroom instruction, one-on-one tutoring, and 24-hour access to our P12 GED Internet program.  The results have been phenomenal!  The majority of our students post-test between 150 and 250 points higher than their pretests. Check out the latest scores!
